Frankfurt is not really a tourist city, though ironically many Europe flight go thru this city. It is one of the three main connection hubs in Europe, with London and Amsterdam being the other two.
It is more of a finance capital of Germany and also Europe to some extent. Euro- mint is here- not that they let us take free souvenirs! ;-) and they call their city "Mainhattan" since it is similar to New York (as a financial capital) and on River Main.
It's nice- pleasant. The one bummer is that most of this city (more than 80%) was burned down in World War II. So, most of these monuments and 'ancient' buildings are replica of the original. Only Wertheym Haus is an original building, though of course it needed restoration to look it's current pretty self!
