This is my first attempt to make an animated scribe video. It introduces Macro2Micro's Health & Wellness portal- Fresh & Natural. Hope to be making many more of these informational/ training scribes.
During my recent trip to The Netherlands, I got to visit a cheese farm and got to see first hand how the traditional Edam Cheese is still made on small farms- which cater to some local clientele as well as the curious tourist!
Edam (Dutch Edammer) is a Dutch cheese which is traditionally sold in spheres with a pale yellow interior and a coat of red paraffin wax. It is named after the town of Edam in the province of North Holland. After aging for at least 17 weeks the cheese sphere is coated with black wax, rather than the usual red or yellow.
Edam ages and travels well, and does not spoil but only hardens. These qualities (among others) made it the world's most popular cheese for a long time.
Mild Edam (which is young cheese) goes well with fruit such as peaches, melons, apricots, and cherries. Where as aged Edam goes well with traditional "cheese fruits" like pears and apples. Similar to most cheeses, it is commonly eaten on crackers and bread, and could also be eaten as a dessert-treat of Cheese and Biscuits. Wines which go the best with Edam Cheese are Pinot Gris, dry Riesling, semidry Riesling, Champagne, Chardonnay and Shiraz/Syrah.
